Trump Cracks Joke: Possible Mexican Airplane Attack

Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, campaigned in New Hampshire on Thursday, June 30, reciting his familiar campaign theme on the injustices of the United State’s trade imbalance.

“Our manufacturing trade deficit with the world is nearly $800 billion. So, we have a trade deficit. We trade. We have a deficit of $800 billion. Nothing new,” he said.

Trump’s figure was considerably greater than the figure cited by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, which places the U.S. manufacturing deficit worldwide in 2015 at around $530 billion.

During the event a private plane flew overhead and interrupted his speech for a moment. Trump took the opportunity to joke “that could be a Mexican plane up there; they’re getting ready to attack.”
