At the proposal of the president of the United States, Joe Biden, the holding of the Summit of Leaders of North America in Washington, DC, is negotiated, in which the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), and the prime minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.
According to official sources, the meeting would take place in person.
Neither the Presidency of the Republic nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) have officially reported the issue.
Nor was it indicated the date on which said meeting would take place or the topics that would be addressed.
If it materializes, it will be the first face-to-face meeting between Presidents López Obrador and Biden.
At the press conference this Wednesday at the National Palace, López Obrador is expected to report on the Summit of North American Leaders.
“Details are yet to be defined but we are in talks to hold the North American Leaders Summit in Washington, DC. The president will give more information tomorrow during his press conference”, commented an official source.
