The support from Lee is part of the attempts from Sanders to win the support of African American voters in South Carolina, where the Democratic primary elections will be hold on Feb. 27.
“Almost 99 percent of U.S. citizens were affected by the Great Recession of 2008. Many of those affected are listening now. That is why I officially support my friend Bernie Sanders,” said Lee.
According to the polls, so far candidate Hillary Clinton holds a commanding lead in the voting preferences in South Carolina and also enjoys a greater popularity among the African American voters in the United States.
