Yesterday was strange day for the Giménez family. During Cruz Azul’s game against Pumas, Christian “Chaco” Giménez’s dream of playing with his son was fulfilled when Santiago entered the game in the 78th minute.
Having only been on the pitch for a few minutes, Santiago won a penalty after being clattered by Pumas goalkeeper, Alfredo Saldívar. Unfortunately, the elder Giménez was unable to punish the mistake, missing from 12 yards.
The day grew darker when Santiago “Mini Chaco” Giménez fractured his left clavicle.
A date is yet to be set for the operation to fix Santiago’s injury. Matters are complicated as he recently suffered a similar break.
