Ambriz appears to now be a strong candidate to lead the Monarcas Morelia

Despite having to improvise with the arrival of Roberto Hernández after Enrique Meza’s departure, Monarcas Morelia may still try to tempt Ignacio “Nacho” Ambriz to return from his stay in Spain to manage them in the Clausura 2016.

Among other candidates is Guillermo Vázguez, though Ambriz is still the main candidate, according to El Universal. The former América helmsman would take the reins at the end of the current tournament and would aim to save the club from relegation.

Ambriz was sacked by América after a disappointing loss against León in Week 9 of the Liga MX season. This was after a run of poor results, bringing to focus the team’s dire form during their 100th year.
