LEÓN, Guanajuato — In an evenly-balanced match, León and Pachuca came to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the semifinals of the2016 Liga MX Torneo Clausura at León’s Nou Camp stadium.
The attacking Hirving Lozano, after 12 minutes, lead Hidalgo’s Pachuca to the first goal – however, Aldo Rocha, at the 23rd minute, posted the equalizer for León in a generally well-played game leaving the series completely open.
While both teams had no spotlights, like the other semifinal, both squads not desentonaron and the left a good impression on the pitch, each with their style of play. León bet on the varied approach and Pachuca with lashes and very dangerous speed.
The domain of the home team forced a spectacular haul of Óscar Pérez to a long distance shot from Montes, in a sign that the years do not pass in vain for the “Conejo.” Moments later came the Hidalgo more youthful counterpart, but could not finish any better form to Erick Gutierrez to Yarbrough in a good meeting.
Fatigue and stress built up for León during the final stretch of the commitment, having to put more into returning to the verticality and speed of its opponent, so it seemed that the tie was not so bad for either of the two clubs; settling the pace a bit, but always with some tension on the field.
So in this first chapter of brotherly duel, as the two clubs belong to the same family, one of the two sides will become the finalist on Sunday, at the Estadio Hidalgo.
