The Bayer Leverkusen player knows that Mexico must do everything right to overcome their rivals

Mexican striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, said that they hoped for a less complicated game against Panama, than that of the game played last Friday, against the United States.

“We won against the United States. We will take that joy and seriousness to the game with Panama, which won’t be easier but just as hard. We want to be more in the moment,” he said.

In a press conference, Chicharito said that the intention is to follow up on the recent triumph, but the team knows that they will be playing against a very difficult rival.

“The truth is that we feel the same. We have the same objective, energy and motivation to win. We respect our rivals, who are a good side and want to win. There has been no relaxation but there is more confidence thanks to the three points,” he said.

He accepted, therefore, that this duel with “Los Canaleros” (The Cinnamon Trees, as the Panama team is known), represent a good opportunity to take an important step in the Hexagonal.

“It’s the best opportunity that we have to start with six points and gives us a lot of confidence to face the future. We haven’t been told to settle for a draw in any of our matches. We will give everything on the pitch to win,” he said.

On the other hand, he dismissed feeling anxiety on becoming the leading goalscorer of the Mexican national side, something he could achieve if he scores in the game on Tuesday.

“It would be really great, but I’m not obsessed. It came so quickly and I want to give my all to contribute and help the team. I’m here to do give whatever the team asks of me, and it goals come then they’d be welcome,” he said.
