The Chivas attacker, Isaac Brizuela, admitted that part of his team’s rally streak, in which they have merely a single loss in the last eleven games, was due to the defeat suffered by las Aguilas in the regular season; after which they shook-off and showed pride, predicting a great face-off between the two teams in the playoffs quarterfinal.
“It was a great game, I think after that game was the emergence of the team, operation came together better, and obviously the score was not a positive result but this is another tournament, we are in the playoffs, and América comes at a good time; the series is pretty even and will be a very good meeting,” said el “Conejito” (the Bunny) Brizuela in a press conference.
“It’s a new series, the rematch the world wants, but I see it as a new golden opportunity, it is in la liguilla and will be a very good setting, leaving to a rival as important as América thinks the most of. I consider this very closed, the two arrive at good time. I am on the side of Chivas, I see the performance of my team and I think we’re in good shape,” he said.
Brizuela, who suffered an injury that did not allow him to see action when the team was in the finals a year ago, now is enjoying the moment and want to give his best. Although he sees a complex rival in América, they have a lot of quality players.
“I think América has enough good players on the offensive end, players who can change the course of the game on you. Many speak of Rubens because he is the captain, he is a player who passes you the goal, but they have important players, not only Rubens (Sambueza),” Brizuela said.
