América still have hope of finishing their centenary with a respectable place in the league, but that has not stopped them from thinking about reinforcements for next season.
Miguel Figueredo, president of the Paraguayan club Sol de América, confirmed that the Mexican team is interested in midfielder Cristhian Paredes, aged 18. “People from América are interested in Cristhian and we are currently closing an agreement with the Mexican team.”
The player in question has said he does not know anything about the possible transfer, but he said he wished he could take it is it was to improve his career.
The young player made his debut this year and has participated in 24 outings with the team from Paraguay. He has also participated in seven meetings for the under-17s national team and two under-20s games. Last year he scored a goal in the under-17 World Cup.
Paredes would become the fourth Paraguayan in the squad, joining Pablo Aguilar, Miguel Samudio and Osvaldo Martínez.
