Aaron Sanchez no-hits Orioles through 7 innings

BALTIMORE (AP) — Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Aaron Sanchez is pitching a no-hitter through seven innings against the Baltimore Orioles.

Sanchez has walked four and hit a batter Tuesday night at Camden Yards. He has four strikeouts and has thrown 82 pitches.

The Blue Jays have backed him with several nice defensive plays, most notably a nice running catch by right fielder Steve Pearce on a first-inning liner by Trey Mancini.

Sanchez is vying to throw the second no-hitter in Blue Jays history. The first was by Dave Stieb against Cleveland on Sept. 2, 1990.

After Orioles starter Andrew Cashner threw seven shutout innings, Toronto broke through with the game’s first run in the top of the eighth.

Sanchez came into the game 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA.
