Head of the Miguel Hidalgo borough, Xóchitl Gálvez Ruiz, said she will look for a solution that will satisfy both authorities and Polanco residents regarding the construction of the new Metrobus line.
In an interview, Gálvez Ruiz said that due to the discontent of locals, next week a meeting with be held with the government of Mexico City where Guillermo Calderón, director of the Metrobús system, will be present.
Also, she said that there is no way that Metrobus Line 7, which run along Avenida Reforma, can make it past the Fuente de Petróleos. “It is not technical or logistically feasible for it to reach the State of Mexico,” she said.
“It has always been impossible for the Metrobus to turn around at the Fuente de Petróleos. We saw no technical or logistical feasibility.”
Gálvez Ruiz commented that more technical advice was requested on the feasibility of this means of transport and hopes that during the visit of the authorities it will be proved that it is not possible to be built.
At the same time, the president of the Neighborhood Committee of the Cuauhtémoc delegation, José Luis Cruz Islas, said that his agency was never consulted by the Mexico City government to carry out the work.
“We weren’t consulted. We as a Citizens Committee we were not required. We have sought a rapprochement for several doubts we have had,” he said.
