Mexico was shaken this past Tuesday by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake. Since then there has been a lot of attention both from inside and outside of the country.

Pope Francis:
He asked for prayers for all Mexicans after the 7.1 earthquake during the general audience which is held every Wednesday in St. Peter’s Square.
“In this moment of pain I want to express my closeness and prayer for all the beloved Mexican population,” he said
Barack Obama:
Obama tweeted, “Thinking about our neighbors in Mexico and all our Mexican-American friends tonight. Take care of yourselves and a big hug for everyone.”

President Trump also published a tweet aimed at Mexico City.

Colombian president Santos tweeted, “Our solidarity with the Mexican people and its president Enrique Peña Nieto @EPN, after the registered earthquake. They have Colombia’s support.”
