The Filux Festival of Light begins this Thursday and celebrates the poetic nature of light through sculptures, installations, architectural illumination, movies, music and more. You can find most exhibits and installations in the Historic Center. The festival runs from Nov. 10-13 from 6 p.m.-11 p.m. and all activities are free. You can find more information here.
FRIDAY
Archives and Diverse Memories (Archivos y Memorias Diversas) will be hosting the 9th annual Mexican Historical LGBTQ Seminar (Seminario Histórico LGBTTTI Mexicano) this Friday. Events include round tables, workshops, and screenings and will take place in the Museum of the Woman (Museo de la Mujer), National School of Anthropology and History (Escuela Nacional de Antropolgía e Historia). SATURDAY
Head over to Huerto Roma Verde for A la Burger! Fest this weekend. There will be more than 100 different dishes, including vegetarian options for your smart friends. Entrance is free and the Fest takes place Saturday and Sunday.
If you and your pup aren’t getting enough quality time, spend some time outdoors at Canine Day. Starting at noon there will be workshops and events to learn more about your dog, as well as eating and play areas. Space is limited and tickets cost 165 pesos. It takes place in Xochitla Parque Ecológico and you can buy tickets online.
Puerto Rican reggae band Cultura Profética is celebrating their 20th anniversary at the Pepsi Center. Doors open at 9 p.m. and you can find tickets here.
SUNDAY
Mexican duo Sin Bandera will be singing their ballads Sunday night at the Auditorio Nacional. After an almost 10-year hiatus, they’re getting together for a tour, playing their romantic classics. The show starts at 7 p.m. and you can find tickets here.
