The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico’s (UAEM), “Dance of the Dead,” will be performed for the first time at the Teatro Morelos in Toluca. Entry will be free.
The iconic show brings to life the tradition of Day of the Dead through the texts by Constancio S. Suarez, with the participation of the University Theater Company. The show will be presented on Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.
In addition, UAEM will participate in the Metepec Chimera Festival, the Valle de Bravo Souls Festival and the Malinalco Day of the Dead Festival. The university will present plays, dance and music performances and literature activities.
UAEM will be very involved in the 2016 Chimera International Arts and Culture Festival, with total of 37 activities at the event. Among these will be the performances of the Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Folkloric Ballet, the “Ebony” clarinet quartet, the “BB” duo and the “Mockingbird” duet.
UAEM promotes art and culture in the State of Mexico, offering artistic performances to residents of the State of Mexico and the university’s students.
