UAEM Student Will Attend Microsoft Championship

The championship gathers the best specialists in Word, Excel and Power Point from 60 countries

Samuel Ruiz Pérez, a third semester student at the “Lic. Adolfo López Mateos” high school  of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM), will be one of three students that will represent Mexico in the 2017 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship.

The championship gathers the best specialists in Word, Excel and Power Point from 60 countries, it will take place in Anaheim, California from July 30 to August 2.

Ruiz Pérez qualified for this event after winning the 2013 Word Regional Center and South Championship and consequently winning the national championship.

During an interview, Ruiz Pérez said that he is currently training up to 12 hours a day at the UAEM Information Technology and Communications Department (DTIC) with department head and his coach Martha Matadamas Gómez.

“It’s an excellent opportunity for me to have an academic experience with students from all across the world and the opportunity to be the best,” said Ruiz Pérez.
