The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico’s (UAEM) Law Department was the starting point of the 20th edition of the Lawyer’s Day Athletic Race organized by the university, which saw the participation of 2,500 runners. The finish line was located at the premises of the State of Mexico Judicial Power.
UAEM Law Department director Inocenta Peña Ortiz welcomed the participants and said that events such as the race demonstrate that lawyers are committed professionals who care equally about their minds and bodies. The event was attended by UAEM attorney general Benjamín Bernal Suárez, who attended the event on behalf of UAEM rector Jorge Olvera García; State of Mexico Superior Court President Sergio Javier Medina Peñaloza; and State of Mexico Human Rights Commissioner Baruch Delgado Carvajal.
The winners of the five kilometer race were Alma Karen Valdés, Diana Lizbeth Trejo, Lucila Mendoza, Omar Romero, Salvador González and Álvaro David Bandera. They were rewarded with sports equipment packages.
The winners of the 10 kilometer race were Olga Lidia Garduño, Griselda Fuentes, Marisol Mendoza Aguirre, Jorge Pérez Huerta, David Masera Gwako and Miguel Ángel Ayala Marino.
