The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) offers academic programs in many fields, including a bachelors degrees in Cinematographic Studies and Music, both of which are in the Performing Arts Department, and have a total enrollment of 136 students.
The Cinematographic Studies program has 69 students, and is the only such program in the State of Mexico. The Music program, which has 67 students, is one of two programs state-wide, alongside the Music Conservatory of the State of Mexico.
In an interview, the director of Performing Arts at UAEM, José Edgar Miranda Ortiz, said that in Mexico there are 19 bachelors degree programs in film, two at public universities and 17 at private universities. There are 168 bachelors degree programs in music, 134 at public universities and 34 at private universities.
Miranda Ortiz said that UAEM anticipates 20 students to enter the bachelors degree program in Cinematographic Studies each year, for an enrollment of 100 students in five years. The university expects 40 students to enter the Music program each year, for an enrollment of 200 in five years.
