The objective of the fairs is to foster values such as conservation, protection and sustainable use of natural resources

The Sixth Fair of Environmental Education and Forest Culture along with Fourth University Health Fair were hosted at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) in order to strengthen values such as conservation, protection and sustainable use of natural resources. The fairs took place in the Nezahualcóyotl campus.

During the opening ceremony, secretary Hiram Raúl Peña Libien — standing in for director Jorge Olvera —pointed out that the 2013-2017 administration will place special attention to the promotion of activities such as the fairs since they create awareness regarding the care and protection of natural resources.

Campus director Laura Espinoza welcomed the attendees to these events “through which university students express their concerns on the responsible use of natural resources and foster the balance between the environment and sustainable development.”

The fairs featured several conferences and information stands by institutions such as the Forest Protection Agency of the State of Mexico (PROBOSQUE), the State Commission for Natural Parks and Fauna (CEPANAF) and the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR).
