Tropical Storm Frank has formed on the Pacific coast of Colima and Jalisco, and is strengthening. The storm could become a hurricane this Saturday, according to the National Meteorological Service.
Friday morning, the storm was approximately 345 kilometers (214 miles) south-east of Manzanillo, Colima and 340 kilometers south-south-east of Playa Perula, Jalisco.
Frank is moving to the north-east at 19 kilometers an hour, with maximum winds at 85 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 100 kilometers per hour.
The storm will cause heavy rain in Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán and Guerrero, very heavy rain in Nayarit and intervals of showers and storms in Sinaloa. According to forecasts, this Saturday the storm will reach hurricane status, 50 kilometers to the east-north-east of Socorro Island, Colima and 430 kilometers to the south of Los Cabos, Baja California Sur.
