UAEM Helps Youths Continue Studies

TOLUCA – For the sixth year in a row, the government of the State of Mexico, the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) and the state’s education secretariat have signed the Agreement for High School and College Education. The agreement will allow UAEM dropouts to continue their bachelor’s or graduate level studies during the 2017-2018 academic year.

At Toluca’s Ignacio Ramírez Federal Junior-High, Gov. Eruviel Ávila Villegas announced that the state will provide 7,900 facilities — 3,000 for high schools and the rest for universities — that will grant young people access to quality education.

Alfredo Barrera Baca, rector of UAEM, assured that the university has the institutional and technological infrastructure to carry out the joint project.

The governor said that throughout the last six years, around 17,000 students have benefited from the agreement, which gives them opportunities and eases the paperwork.

The agreement aims at helping young people within the state in search of a chance to better themselves through study and who want to claim their right to quality education, explained Barrera Baca.
