A statement form the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) announced that the Sixth Judge of the District of Federal Criminal Proceedings, located in Mexico City, sentenced to prison the son of the former governor of Tabasco for his alleged responsibility in the crime of fiscal fraud for an amount of over 2.1 million pesos ($120,000).
The accused, whose name was not given, was arrested on April 8 near the borough of Coyoacán, during the completion of the arrest warrant against him.
The Assistant Attorney General for Federal Crimes Investigation (SEIDF) obtained the warrant despite the proof presented by the accused as part of his defense strategy.
In his 2011 annual income tax declaration (ISR), he declared profits for business activities of over 939,000 pesos, however, having an income of nearly eight million pesos, he failed to pay his corresponding ISR, according to the PGR.
