Seymour Becomes Category Three Hurricane in the Pacific

Hurricane Seymour has become a category three storm in the Pacific, far from the Mexican coast.

Its winds at dusk reached 185 km per hour (115 mph) according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center. It is expected to gain speed throughout Tuesday and weaken by Wednesday.

Hurricane Seymour’s center was 909 km (565 mi) southeast of Baja California, and moved westward at 24 kph (15 mph).

The hurricane is not expected to reach land on Tuesday.
