Mónica Arriola Gordillo, daughter of Elba Esther Gordillo and senator from New Alliance, died at her home Monday night as a victim of a brain tumor.
From 2006 to 2009 Arriola Gordillo was a federal deputy of the LX Legislature, as well as general secretary of the New Alliance party.
Between 2009 and 2012 she was a local deputy of the V Legislature of the Legislative Assembly. She was also campaign coordinator for the governor of the State of Mexico, Eruviel Ávila.
The legislator was 44 years old. She had studied Latin American Literature at the Universidad Iberoamericana.
