The Interior Secretariat (Segob), made a call for civil society organizations and academic experts with experience on prevention, fighting and punishment of human trafficking and protection and assistance of human trafficking victims, to stand as candidates for the creation of the Interministerial Commission on Human Trafficking.
The registration of candidates can be carried out electronically via the federal government’s webpage, starting on April 20 and ending on May 20.
The notice was published in the Official Gazette and was issued based on the background, basis and candidates’ selection criteria proposed by a representative of civil society organizations and two academic experts.
The commission aims to define, promote and coordinate state policy and programs, actions and tasks to prevent, punish and eradicate crimes relating to human trafficking and to protect and assist victims of these crimes.
The applications which meet all the requirements will be evaluated by the Advisory Subcommittee, which will submit a justified proposal for consideration by the commission, and during session, will analyze and choose the winning candidates.
