TOLUCA – Diego José López Valerio, a student at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico’s (UAEM) Engineering Department, obtained second and third place at Rancho San Juan’s Show Jumping Circuit. The circuit was hosted by the Mexican Equestrian Federation and gives winners a chance to represent their schools at Querétaro’s National Circuit.
Rancho San Juan’s Circuit is one of four circuits that takes place in Mexico’s central region, the others being the National Defense Circuit, the Presidential Guard Circuit and the Mexico City Circuit, explained López Valerio. He has been representing UAEM for three years, obtaining the National Defense Circuit championship in the process, he added.
López Valerio wishes to represent UAEM on a national stage; that’s why he trains hard every day alongside his horse Kontiki. Now he’s getting ready for the next five competitions, which will take place in August. If he does well, he’ll be able to contend for the championship, and from then on, he can compete nationally.
