The national leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), Enrique Ochoa Reza, asked the government of Veracruz, led by Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares, to clarify the accusations and arrest of the former Veracruz interim governor, Flavino Ríos.
The PRI leader warned that citizens’ demands for punishment over corruption in Veracruz should not be carried out on the basis of political revenge.
“We demand that the @YoconYunes government clarify the accusations and arrest of @flavino_rios. Punish those responsible without violating the law,” he wrote in his Twitter account.
The Veracruz Prosecutor’s Office detained former interim governor Flavino Ríos who is accused of being involved in the escape of Javier Duarte de Ochoa, as well as diverting state resources, profiting from illicit business and organized crime.
