The Atmospheric Monitoring System (Simat) reported that the districts of Ecatepec and Chalco suffer from poor air quality Wednesday, registering 107 and 101 points of particle pollution, respectively. Levels between 101 and 150 are considered “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” by the Air Quality Index.
Due to the current conditions, it is recommended that children, elderly, people carrying out intense physical activity or with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases limit prolonged time outdoors.
Simat reported that in the rest of the State of Mexico pollution levels were below 100 points on the scale of the Metropolitan Air Quality Index (Imeca).
In Mexico City, air quality is fair, as pollution levels remain within the environmental norm.
