Policeman Dead in Reynosa Shooting

All three officers had injuries and where taken to a local hospital where one of them died

An attack on state police in the border town of Reynosa in the state of Tamaulipas, left five dead including a state policeman, a civilian and three attackers.

The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of Tamaulipas said that a black KIA van with three people in it opened fire on three state police officers while they were patrolling the highway area near The Maternity and Children’s Hospital.

The SSP said that the officers returned fire in self defense, and after a car chase in the neighborhood of Esfuerzo Nacional. They shot and killed all three attackers.

All three officers suffered injuries and were taken to a local hospital where one of them died.

Police confiscated three rifles, holsters, bullet proof vests, magazine clips and ammunition that where found in the attacker’s vehicle, while the Medical Forensic Service (Semefo) took custody off the bodies.
