CIUDAD VICTORIA, Tamaulipas – Tamaulipas state police were attacked by gang members in the González municipality and when fighting back, killed two of the members.
The Tamaulipas Coordination Group (GTC) said that the incident occurred when state police were performing a security and surveillance check.
They were then charged by a black Toyota Tundra truck and a white Chevrolet Suburban occupied by armed men who opened fire on the police forces. Police officers shot back, killing two men.
The first victim was identified as Alexis Perea del Angel, 20 years old, and the second was identified with the nickname “Moneneque.”
The Toyota Tundra and Chevrolet Suburban were found with weapons inside. Both the weapons and vehicles were confiscated.
