Pemex Reviews Contract With National Defense Secretariat

Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) will review a lease contract for aircrafts worth a total of 2 billion 445 million pesos signed during the administration of Emilio Lozoya.

A contract for aircrafts with SEDENA is at the hearth of the latest Pemex controversy.

As part of the appearance of Pemex’s new director, González Anaya, National Action Party (PAN) deputy Armando Rivera made the existence of this contract known, exposing figures that point to a surcharge in the provision of services.

González Anaya responded that the termination of the contract was underway, while the process of determining the pertinent actions in this case were ongoing.

“We will act in strict accordance with the law, and will collaborate completely with the authorities if irregularities were to be found, it is with this forcefulness and clarity that I respond to your comments.”

Without dwelling on the subject, the Pemex director said that there was in fact a contract with the National Defense Secretariat (SEDENA) for the use of aircrafts, usedd both for transporting personnel and making oil robbery.
