CHARO, Michoacán — While handing out agricultural incentives and mechanized farm equipment, including tractors, President Enrique Peña Nieto said that public programs require political will and openness to alliances.
“The Federal Government is always ready to work with all government entities, joining forces beyond party affiliation,” said Peña Nieto.
At La Goleta community in the Charo municipality, he called for state and federal leaders to work together to meet common ends.
Peña Nieto said that collaboration has allowed the agricultural sector to grow since the start of his administration. In that time, agricultural exports have increased 61 percent, compared to the previous administration.
Speaking alongside Michoacán Gov. Silvano Aureoles Conejo, and Agricultural Secretary José Eduardo Calzada Rovirosa, Peña Nieto handed out certificates for corn and bean subsidies.
Peña Nieto announced that before the end of his term in 2018, the federal government, working alongside the states, will give out 25,000 tractors nation-wide. So far 8,000 tractors have been given out.
