Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) Deputy Angélica de la Peña Gómez supports her party’s decision to form the Democratic Front with the National Action Party (PAN) and the Citizens Movement in order to be competitive in the 2018 presidential elections.
“The current state of affairs forces us to support a new regimen that will be based on a government coalition. This is a front against authoritarianism and against a regime based and tied to only one man,” said de la Peña Gómez.
De la Peña Gómez also talked about Deputy René Dolores Padierna Luna’s decision to leave the PRD in order to join Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) in the National Regeneration Movement (Morena).
“We know that René always dreamed about being close to Andrés Manuel. It’s the truth. I think she has forgiven him. I’m very sorry that the party wasn’t able to overcome that dependency on Andrés,” said de la Peña Gómez.
