MEXICO CITY – A water pipe collapsed and caused a sinkhole of approximately 10 meters in diameter on Humboldt street in Downtown Mexico City this Thursday.
Civil Protection Agency Secretariat Fausto Lugo García said in an interview that there were no victims and that the area has been roped off and a local business has been evacuated.
Lugo García said that the collapsed pipe is part of Water Systems of Mexico City (Sacmex) and that this agency’s personnel are currently working onsite alongside personnel from other government agencies.
