Soledad Luévano Cantú, of the leftist National Regeneration Movement (Morena), won the election to become the next mayor of Zacatecas city, the capital of Zacatecas.
With 100 percent of ballots counted by the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP), 18,651 votes have been cast for Luévano Cantú, or 30.46 percent. The runner-up was Judit Guerrero López, representing a coalition between the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), the Green Party (PVEM) and the New Alliance Party (Panal), with 15,208 votes, or 29.50 percent.
