José Antonio Meade Kuribreña, head of the Social Development Secretariat (Sedesol), said that the structural reforms, economic policy and adjustments announced by the federal government and promoted by President Enrique Peña Nieto have maintained stability regarding the prices of basic goods, which is the most relevant indicator in terms of poverty.
“For the first time in many years, the basic goods basket is performing in line with inflation and even below it,” said Meade Kuribreña during his participation in the 11th Mexican Financial Summit.
