Mexico City Mayor Miguel Ángel Mancera Espinoza said he is confident the City Constitution will be finished by Jan. 31, deadline for the approval of the sections comprising the document. “I know time is not on our side and the deadline draws closer, but the most important part should be the construction of a new legal foundation, “ stated Mancera Espinoza.
Mancera Espinoza praised the work of the lawmakers involved and noted that the Constitution is aimed at improving the living conditions of the population. He also stated that over 500,000 citizens worked on the project.
