State of Mexico Governance Secretary José Manzur Quiroga announced that 46 people were arrested for engaging in vandalism and looting convenience stores and supermarkets in the state.

Manzur Quiroga stated that the detainees were currently under investigation to determine procedures.

Surveillance camera footage from the vandalized stores is being used to determine the identity of the rest of the people involved.

Regarding recent protests and roadblocks Manzur Quiroga noted that while the State of Mexico respects the right of freedom of expression, protesters should also respect the rights of fellow citizens and abide by the law.

The secretary also claimed that the government has privileged the use of dialogue to clear all roadblocks within the state.
