Mexico City authorities have confirmed that there was a physical assault on a path in the Tlalpan Forest on Oct. 5.
Police found an injured female athlete and determined that she had been a victim of sexual assault.
She was brought to a clinic and later to the Xoco Hospital.
A civil association of runners who use the Tlalpan Forest said that there have been many assaults in the forest, and that they will organize a protest on Oct. 8.
