An independent international jury met in October 2015 to evaluate the 53 good practices presented by 17 meters of the ISSA in nine Latin American countries. As a result of the selection process, the ISSSTE was awarded for its performance in seven good practices presented. This were its Elimination of the Presencial Rights Validity of Pensionable Population program; Personal Loans Care Center; Individual Payments Electronic Format; Support Course for Informal Caregivers for the Elderly; Telephonic and Online Medical Appointment Service; Adult Overweight and Obesity Prevention and Care; and its Refillable Prescription Program.

During the ceremony, José Reyes Baeza Terrazas, general director of the ISSSTE, welcomed the acknowledgment of the ISSA and thanked the organization for considering the institute.

“This will serve as motivation so we can continue to improve pension services, health insurance, mortgage loans in order to further improve the lives of our 13 million beneficiaries. This commits us to continue to build a more modern ISSSTE,” said Baeza Terrazas.

Hans-Horst Konkolewsky, secretary general of the ISSA, noted the progress of social security in Mexico during the last three years and said that the efforts of the countries in the region will improve the quality of life of millions of people.
