IPN Assigned to the Public Education Secretary

The measure will spur its educative, scientific and technological activities

The National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) was assigned to the Office of the Secretary of Public Education, an action that will spur its educative, scientific and technological activities.

In a statement, the Public Education Secretariat (SEP) stated that on April 6 the Official Journal of the Federation published agreement number 01/03/16 that assigns administrative units and decentralized bodies of the SEP.

With this, the study center retained its assignment to the undersecretariat of Higher Education.

The measure groups within sub-sectors the public-sector institutions coordinated by the SEP, assigns the decentralized bodies to these sub-sectors and designates the deputies to preside over these institutions o technical committees.

The IPN was created in 1936 by President Lázaro Cárdenas, and has consolidated as one of the pillars of higher education in the country.

For eight decades, Mexico has benefitted from the creativity, drive and constant innovation of the polytechnic community.
