In order to promote and strengthen the rights of the indigenous communities, the Interior Secretariat (Segob), the National Commission for the Development of Indigenous People (CDI) and the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) will sign a cooperation agreement.
The meeting, titled “Agreement to Ensure Indigenous Communities’ Human Rights,” will he held in the municipality of Mezquital, in Durango, where most of the indigenous population of the state is concentrated.
Interior Secretary Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong, National Public Advocate Luis Raúl González Pérez and CDI Director Nuvia Mayorga Delgado will lead the meeting, which will also be attended by more than 3,000 representatives from the indigenous communities.
