The University of Health is the only private institution for higher education in the State of Mexico that has the backing of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) to offer degree programs in Medical Surgery, Psychology, Nursing, Physical Therapy and Gerontology. Alfredo Barrera Baca, the Secretary of Teaching at UAEM, attended the recent inauguration ceremony of this educational facility.
The ceremony was also attended by the University of Health president, Decarth Velázquez Mendoza; the University of Heatlh rector, Gerardo Huitrón Bravo; and the UAEM Medicine Department director, Alfredo Jaramillo García.
Barrera Baca congratulated the group of Mexican entrepreneurs who had the vision to invest in health education, and reiterated that UAEM and its incorporated institutions have been allies in the promotion of quality secondary and higher education for four decades.
According to Barrera Baca, this is an important network of over 75 institutions that serve around 25,000 students.
Velázquez Mendoza said that the goal of the institution is to train young people to be capable of following professional lives focused on health care.
Huitrón Bravo said that the new institution was possible because of the support of UAEM.
