The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) activated Phase I Environmental Contingency for Atmospheric Ozone for Saturday, meaning all cars with holograms “1” and “2” will be prohibited from circulation.
Also out of circulation on Mexico City streets will be cars with foreign license plates, or from other states that do not carry the “exempt,” “double zero” and “zero” hologram, as will be those verifified hologram 2.
The restriction also applies to delivery vehicles of gasoline, diesel fuel and LP gas, or those used expressly for advertising purposes, stated the CAMe.
“All vehicles used for freight service with federal or local plates will have to abide by the restrictions on circulation between 6:00 to 10:00 a.m.,” the agency stated.
Transit authorities will establish roads to operate along for streamlining vehicular traffic in the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico, besides surveillance for visibly polluting vehicles.
