Chamber of Deputies Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) parliamentary group coordinator César Camacho was the first victim of the group JitomaterosMX who have begun a campaign to attack deputies who accepted their Christmas Bonus with tomatoes.
In an interview after the attack, Camacho, accompanied by other PRI deputies, warned that these acts will not be treated as protests, but rather as criminal acts that will be met with consequences.
Camacho immediately recognized Arne aus den Ruthen Hag, the organizer of the group, as the one who called his attention so that he would stop as tomatoes were thrown at his back.
“I was about to arrive at the Mining Department when they called my attention to my right, and I noticed that it was Arne that caught my attention, making me turn,” said Camacho.
Camacho stopped to question him and told him that he would file a complaint to the necessary authorities because theses acts would not be tolerated.
He acknowledged that the reason for the so-called jitomatazos was for the Christmas bonus they received a few weeks ago but said that in his case, the money he received was sent to a community organization.
