Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas – The Tamaulipas Coordination Group (GCT) reported that from Feb. 15-21 federal and state officials have detained 24 gang members, highlighting Luis Osvaldo López Martínez, the leader of a gang linked to attacks in the state.
The coordination group said that in a meeting fighting crime achievements of the federal and state government were highlighted.
The GCT said that said that seven of the 24 criminals were detained in the municipality of Victoria, four in Nuevo Laredo, four in Reynosa, two in Río Bravo, two in Aldama, two in Valle Hermoso, one in Miguel Alemán, one in González and one in Tampico.
From Feb. 12-18 the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in Tamaulipas brought 13 people to court for various federal crimes, according to the GCT.
The organization added that when in comes to drug enforcement, the PGR reported confiscating 362 kilograms of marijuana.
