Tourists vacationing in Acapulco for Holy Week have reported violence leading to five deaths and two people injured in Acapulco, Guerrero, on Wednesday.
The first attack took place in the Las Gaviotas bar and left three dead and two wounded, including two employees of the bar. A group of armed men broke into the bar and started shooting at the costumers. The bar is located on the Acapulco-Mexico highway, in la Cima, in the Vicente Guerrero neighbourhood.
Later, it was reported to 066 emergency services that two bodies had been left behind La Diana Bar, off of eje central Ciudad Renacimiento. The day before yesterday, armed people killed two boaters, Virgilio Avilés and Mario Alberto Rodríguez, and wounded one in la Angosta Beach, in Acapulco Tradicional. The shots frightened the tourists who were looking for refuge on the beach.
