Pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists must exercise extreme caution when driving through the streets of Mexico City during the rainy season.
The National Coordinator of Civil Protection, Luis Felipe Puente gave several recommendations for the rainy season.
Cyclists should use front lights on their bicycles and another on the back to be clearly visible. Drivers should slow down and wear seat belts, keep the lights on and maintain good visibility by keeping the windshield clear.
In areas of risk, inhabitants should locate the temporary shelters in case of emergency, and avoid walking through streams of water as they could be dragged under.
