Xalapa, Mexico – The Electoral Local Public Organization of Veracruz (OPLE), the Electoral Crimes Prosecutor’s Office (FEPADE) and the Veracruz Electoral Tribunal (TEV) signed a training and disclosure agreement.
This agreement hopes to prevent electoral crimes and encourage people to report them.
The president of OPLE, Alejandro Bonilla, said that strengthening democracy requires actions in favor of civic education and actions that prevent any conduct that goes against electoral principles.
To fulfill the agreement, participating organizations agreed to develop and promote training courses to prevent electoral crimes, as well as educated citizens about their rights.
On June 5, elections will be held in Veracruz for governor and state Congress.
