Conago Members Meet in Private

Conago members are expected to discuss how to provide better protection for journalists across the country

MEXICO CITY – Mexico City Gov. Miguel Ángel Mancera Espinosa is heading a private meeting for the National Governor Conference (Conago).

The meeting, which started at noon, is taking place at the Communications, Command and Control Center (C4).

The meeting is being attended by the governors of Guerrero, Hidalgo, Baja California Sur, Colima, Chihuahua, Jalisco, Puebla, Sinaloa, Quintana Roo, Tamaulipas, Tabasco, Veracruz and Tlaxcala.

Conago members are expected to discuss the creation of special units within the prosecutor’s offices in each state, that specialize in the prevention and investigation of crimes against journalists.

Mancera Espinosa spoke two days ago about the Conago’s intention to have coordination between control centers across the country in order to have access to real time information and provide better intelligence.
