Coahuila Gov. Rubén Moreira Valdez presented the Coahuila Wines brand and said that it fulfills his administration’s commitment to promote the economic development of all productive sectors in the state, as the brand brings together 20 wine producers from nine different municipalities in the state.
Speaking to wine producers, ambassadors, federal deputies, senators and members of the private sector, the governor said that, although Coahuila stands out nationally in the industry sector, it is also the largest producer of refined silver in the world and the largest producer of sulfates in America.
Tourism Sub Secretary Francisco Maz Peña said that the initiative represents a valuable and determined boost to the gastronomy of Mexico and that last year President Enrique Peña Nieto issued a policy to promote national cuisine.
“The wine brand presented today is a clear commitment to continue to make this product a trigger for development in the state, a major component of its offer to tourists and an important factor for the positioning of Coahuila and Mexico on the world stage,” he added.
